Nobody said being a good father was easy. As a father, how do you show your children that they are important to you?

When I was young I experienced a little hardship from my father. He beat me everytime when I did something wrong. And I promise to myself that I will never follow his step or I will never hurt my children when I'm become a FATHER in the future.


Now, I'm a father of two lovely kids, and I remember the day when I was a kid and was experiencing a difficult time with my father. 


Today, it's my turn to make it up to myself and give to my children all the things that was deprived to me when  I was younger. I give a lot of my time with them, play with them, watch movies with them and let them play outside of the house. 

These are the things that I never experienced during my childhood.When I'm not really busy I go out with them to walk in the park or go to the malls and treat them their favorite WAFFLES. Sometimes I tag them along if I'm going to visit my Aunts and some close relatives or friends.

Being a father of two barako kids is not really easy, especially when they are quarreling or throwing tantrums. Sometimes, when my eldest Joshua hit James my youngest, I get really mad and tried to spank him. But I realize that when I do that to him I'm just like being my father... being brutal. So rather than punishing  him that way I just talk to him and tell him that "DON'T  hurt your brother", and surprisingly he listened.
One day, I saw Joshua crying and asked him "Why are you crying", and he told me that James beat him and I was surprise that my youngest son is the one who started the trouble now. And I did the same discipline like I did to Joshua.
As my children grow up I am learning many things, the things that changes my life.Children are really hard to deal with, so you have to give your best to discipline them without hurting, and raise them properly.
Being a good father is a relief for your entire life.. but how can you tell if you are a good father?
Giving all the luxury to your child doesn't mean you are a good father. The best way to know if you are a good father is, if your child becomes a good son/daughter to their parents and grows up like a good man and knows his/her responsibility and that's the only legacy you can give to them "BE A GOOD FATHER!".
